Description: While I started working on a (never ending) modulair system I also had the plan to make a small synth that I could build relatively fast and cheap. It is based on a simple soundgeneratorchip (sn76477, half analog/half digital) and is more of a sound effects machine. Sounds from dr Who come to mind when playing with this. I found back all the pencildrawn schematics and perfboard layouts so after some small repairs it came alive again and I recorded a few sounds that I made. It also has a very basic handcontrolled resonant filter circuit being nothing more than 1 transistor and a twin-T feedbacknetwork with potentiometer (like a gitar wah-wah box). A few opamps sum the control and audio signals. The nice woodwork was done by my father. |
